Dedicated to one of the mysterious works of art, the chalice from the Tyniec Abbey, this coin continues a popular series dedicated to the missing works of art. Struck in 1 oz of fine 999 silver, the coin possesses an image of the chalice before its disappearance and is decorated with gilding and Swarovski elements.
The obverse side of the coin features the empty frame symbolizing the idea of the series. In the lower part is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by the legends: the name of the series in Polish, the face value, the year and the country of issue.
The reverse side depicts a detailed image of the chalice with the Tyniec Abbey on the background, where it had been kept before its disappearance during the Second World War. Below, under the chalice, there are three Swarovski crystal inserts. The inscription in Polish denotes: “The Chalice from the Tyniec Abbey”.
