This series is dedicated to the most famous painters of the world. All coins are rectangular and present individual images of the painters and chosen reproductions of their wonderful works, thanks to which each coin is to some extent a piece of art.
On the obverse of the coin in its central part there is a fragment of Girls at the Piano – one of the most famous paintings of the Renoir. In the right-hand, bottom part of the coin: the coat of arms of Andorra and below it a historic mint sign: MW. To the right, a vertical inscription in Catalonian: PRINCIPAT D’ANDORRA (the Principality of Andorra). Below the fragment of the painting – the year of issue: 2008 and the face value of the coin: 10 D (Diners).
On the reverse of the coin in the left-hand bottom corner there is an image of Auguste Renoir. Below it an inscription: Pierre Auguste Renoir, on the right side, at the top, of the coin there is an inscription: 1841 – 1919 (designating the years of the painter’s life).
